Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is getting ready for the launch of new Windows Phone 8 devices, one of which could land on shelves with a quad-core processor inside, it seems.

The handset has made an appearance on the benchmarking site GFXBench, where it was listed with an Adreno 305 GPU and a 720 x 1280 pixel touchscreen, albeit no other details on it have been provided.

As PhoneArena points out, the smartphone should be running under Windows Phone 8 GDR3, given that support for quad-core processors was rumored to arrive packed inside this platform release.

One thing that remains to be seen, however, is whether such a device will indeed land on shelves soon, given that Nokia is rumored to have a bit of a problem with keeping power consumption down with such powerful processors, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
