Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is gearing up for the release of new handsets on the market, including some that have already been announced, such as the Aino and Satio, as well as one that awaits to become official, the XPERIA X3, which is expected to turn into the first smartphone the company launches under Google's Android operating system.

A wide range of rumors and reports on the XPERIA X3, codenamed Rachael, already emerged, among which we had the chance to spot some regarding a possible January 2010 launch time frame. Other details have surfaced as well, including a series of images with the device, and now a new load of photos allegedly showing the Sony Ericsson Android phone are available.

The pictures seem to be quite blurry, yet Engadget says that the shape of the device in these photos is the one that X3 is expected to have, so they might prove legit in the end. Along with them, however, a pack of clearer photos also surfaced, though on another website, and they show not only the XPERIA X3, but also a white version.

Take a look at some of these photos below or follow this link to view the entire gallery. In case the images and specs that the fellows over at mobile-nova posted are real, then you will be looking at another device that sports a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, only that this time it is an Android-based smartphone, and not Windows Mobile-powered one.

With the new bunch of rumors on the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 and X3 handsets emerging into the wild, one can expect for some official announcements to follow shortly, so stay tuned to learn more details on this. In the meantime, take a look at the promo videos with the Sony Ericsson Aino and Satio that surfaced on the web recently.
