Mobile phone maker Motorola was rumored a while ago to plan launching on the market a great deal of new handsets that will run under the Google Android operating system. A leaked image of the company's roadmap suggested at that time that we're to expect for a Motorola Motus to surface, and for a Motorola Zeppelin, as well as for a Sholes Tablet, a device that just popped up in a few images.

The said Sholes Tablet is expected from a certain point of view to be a variant of the already launched Motorola DROID, which, as many of you might already know, has been initially spotted around the web as the Motorola Sholes. It seems that a series of details on the handset, along with the aforementioned photos have just emerged on the Taiwanese forum Mobile01.

According to the guys over there, the upcoming device is to include a series of more than appealing features, such as a 550MHz OMAP TI 3430 processor, which is present within the Motorola DROIDas well, a 3.7inch touchscreen display that boasts a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, also known to you already, and the Android 2.0 flavor of Google's platform.

Additional specs on the phone include a 3.5mm headset jack, UMTS/HSPA connectivity options, an impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper with Xenon flash and 720p video recording capabilities, not to mention a HDMI port. Moreover, the upcoming device is expected to include Motorola CrystalTalk technology, though it seems that it will lack the sliding QWERTY keyboard, and that there are no details on whether it will also come with MOTOBLUR on it.

For the time being, we'll have to take this with a grain of salt, but that doesn't mean that we cannot hope that the device will prove to be real in the end. Considering the impression Motorola DROID made on almost all enthusiasts out there, the upcoming Sholes Tablet will certainly be poised for an even greater popularity. Stay tuned for more details on this as soon as they become available.
