Verizon Wireless has just launched on its airwaves its first two mobile phones powered by Google's Android operating system, the Motorola DROID and HTC DROID ERIS, and now the rumor is that it is getting ready for the releases of a third such handset. The said Android device might be none other than the previously rumored HTC Dragon, which should include a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

A recent post on BGR displays a phone screen image that supposedly shows the HTC Dragon, and says the image is legit. The one thing certain here is that the device in question is an HTC phone, and that it also runs under Google's Android OS. If real, the handset should become another high-end phone available for Verizon's users with Google's mobile operating system on board.

According to BGR, we should expect the HTC Dragon to come to the United States market sometime in mid-December. The handheld might arrive under the name of Passion, which emerged into the wild before, and one might be prepared to see it available for purchase on Black Friday, yet nothing official has been unveiled on the matter until now.

One way or the other, this handset should prove a great pair for the recently released Motorola DROID. The phone is expected to come with the aforementioned speedy processor, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper, and with the Android 2.0 operating system on board. In addition, it might also include a large display, just as the Windows Mobile-based HTC HD2 does.

The specifications on HTC Dragon are not official as of yet, and we might learn that the device comes with different hardware than expected, but the one thing that is certain is its sporting a great deal of features and capabilities. Mid-December is only about a month away from now, which means that additional details on this handset should emerge in the very near future, so stay tuned.
