Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has already been rumored to plan the launch of new devices in its popular Lumia lineup, and one new such phone appears to have leaked online now, namely the Nokia Lumia 950.

Although previous rumors were pointing at an upcoming Lumia 928, supposedly the specific Verizon flavor of the current flagship Lumia 920, it seems that Nokia might have some surprises in store for us.

Said Lumia 950 made an appearance in a supposedly leaked photo over at WPCentral, though the image reportedly shows only a prototype of the smartphone.

Rumored specifications of the device include a 1280 x 768 pixels screen, which will leave Windows Phone 8 enthusiasts still dreaming of a possible full HD device running under the OS.

Additionally, the device is said to arrive on shelves in multiple color flavors, although only the Black variant has been produced as of now, and to sport improved battery life.

The handset should also include 2GB of RAM, while packing a larger camera sensor compared to what other Lumia devices out there sport at the moment, but it won’t be a 41MP one, although some might have been hoping for that.

Overall, the supposedly leaked Lumia 950 prototype seems legit and might even prove to be a real device, though WPCentral notes that the Windows Phone logo on its front doesn’t seem to add up to the story, since it resembles that seen on pre-Lumia 800 prototypes.

We’ve seen the Lumia 950 mentioned before, though only attached to a concept phone coming from a third party, yet that doesn’t mean that such a device wasn’t in Nokia’s plans before, that’s for sure.

For the time being, however, we’ll have to take the info above with a grain of salt, since all might prove to be fake in the end, but we’ll keep an eye out for additional details on this phone, so stay tuned for more.
