It could very well prove to be a new high-end Lumia phone

Following the launch of Nokia Lumia 630, Lumia 635, and Lumia 930, Microsoft Mobile (aka Nokia’s Devices and Services division) might be getting ready for the launch of mid-range Windows Phone 8.1 handsets too, and one of them appears to have leaked online today.

Apparently, said upcoming smartphone will be a successor for the Nokia Lumia 820 and will sport a design similar to what was spotted on the latest Lumia phones out there.

As can be seen in the aforementioned leaked images, available courtesy of Chinese social network weibo, the forthcoming handset appears to sport an aluminum frame wrapped around its body, while featuring a polycarbonate casing.

Moreover, the smartphone can also be admired with capacitive hardware buttons on the front, while expected to arrive on shelves in China in the not-too-distant future, as WPDang suggests.

At the same time, it is suggested that the phone could indeed be launched as Nokia Lumia 830, with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS loaded on top (assuming that the photos are not fake and that the leaker is offering the correct info).

The phone features design elements that remind us of Lumia 930, including the bottom speaker and said aluminum frame on the side. However, the rear camera appears to be larger compared to what other Nokia phones include, though smaller than the 41MP camera on Lumia 1020.

Unfortunately, no specific info on what the handset will sport in terms of hardware has been provided as of now, and it also remains to be seen what name it will feature in the end, and whether it is indeed planned for commercial release.

In fact, WPDang notes that the device in these leaked images might actually be a high-end Lumia smartphone, and not the mid-range Lumia 830, due to its large screen and supposed premium outer design.

Moreover, it is implied that we might actually be looking at Nokia McLaren, which was rumored a while ago to arrive on shelves as a new flagship smartphone from Microsoft.

For those out of the loop, we should note that McLaren emerged online not long ago along with phones such as Rock and Superman, but that no official confirmation on any of them has been provided as of now.

Regardless of whether called Nokia Lumia 830 or something else, the new phone could become official before the end of this year, which means that additional info on it will emerge in the coming months, so keep an eye on this space to learn the news.
