Soon, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics should make a new flagship Android-based device official, in the form of LG G3, and some more info on the matter is now available.

The phone has leaked online a few times before, yet no image with it has been available until now, and we still don’t know much on what it might have to offer in terms of design.

However, aliexpress.com is now listing a series of plastic cases that are said to work perfectly with the LG G3, and these accessories are now capable of providing us with an idea of what the phone might look like on the back.

Apparently, LG will continue to place the Power and Volume buttons on the back of its flagship handsets, the same as it happened with the LG G2 last year, and with its smaller counterpart, the LG G2 mini.

Moreover, the upcoming LG G3 is expected to hit shelves with a 13-megapixel or 16MP camera on the back, which will be placed right above the aforementioned buttons.

However, as GSMArena notes, it’s rather interesting to see that the aforementioned cases also show two square cut holes on the right and left side of the camera.

While one of these is expected to be destined for the phone’s LED flash, it remains to be seen whether the other one has been included there for a secondary LED flash or for a new sensor.

The case also shows room for the antenna for the DMB-H variant of the device, which should land on shelves in Korea, and which will be placed on the bottom left side of the phone. At the bottom of the device, one can also see the 3.5mm jack and the microUSB port.

Moreover, the LG G3 should arrive on shelves with an IR blaster at the top, and a cut hole in the case proves that.

LG has yet to offer an official confirmation on the new device, though rumor has it that it might not be too long before it does so. The smartphone is expected to become official in June, while being set to hit shelves in July.

As far as its hardware capabilities are concerned, we might see it released with a 5.5-inch LCD screen capable of delivering a 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, as well as with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor inside, and 2GB of RAM.

The handset should also pack 32GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, and a 3000mAh battery. LG is also expected to pack it with a water-resistant design, with an IPX7 rating.

LG G3 is set to arrive on the market with Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system preloaded, as well as with LG’s own Optimus UI on top of it, for a custom, exclusive experience.
