As the unveiling date of HTC’s next flagship is drawing near, more and more leaked info on it makes it to the web, the latest of which comes in the form of an allegedly leaked live photo.

The image was spotted on hk-android.info, and it supposedly shows the front of the smartphone in all its glory, though there’s no confirmation on it being the real thing.

The smartphone, known as HTC M8 but expected to hit shelves either as HTC One 2 or as HTC One+, has been long rumored to resemble a lot last year’s HTC One, and the newly leaked render confirms that once again.

Moreover, it also shows that the device will arrive on shelves with on-screen buttons, something that HTC has been said to plan on including in this device.

On top of that, the leaked photo resembles a lot a purported HTC M8 final render that made it online yesterday, which suggests that it could be indeed real.

On the other hand, as nowhereelse.fr notes, the photo appears to be showing a series of inconsistencies when compared to previously leaked images with the device, suggesting that it might be a fake.

A closer look at the top front of the handset shows that the sensors are placed next to the camera, and not to the far left side, as recently leaked photos with it supposedly unveiled.

For the time being, we’ll take the newly spotted image with a grain of salt, given that there’s no telling on whether it is real or not.

HTC M8 is expected to become official with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start, and the image above hints at this as well (see the whitened icons at the top of the screen).

Moreover, HTC is said to be launching it with a 5-inch screen, a quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, and twin 4MP UltraPixel cameras on the back, for an enhanced imaging experience.
