At times when every drop of water and every cent count and have to be preserved, a new generation of eco-friendly, all-in-one toilets appears to be the next best thing, protecting budgets and limiting our water consumption, without impacting our daily habits and necessities.

Most of the concepts unveiled or anticipated for the near future come along with the promise of a considerable reduction of previously required water supplies, of up to 83%. Apart from the fact that it saves water, it also highlights an innovative design, marking the beginning of a new era for toilets, by adding other functionalities.

Soon, our toilet will be a sink too, recycling water and cutting down expenses. At least this is the idea proposed by Juliana Lopes, a creative designer from Brazil and first unveiled during the London Design Festival, Ecosalon informs.

Her concept has been received with enthusiasms, proving that people aren't always reticent to design improvements aiming to make them more eco-conscious. Apart from its important savings, it also helps fight bacteria and unpleasant smells.

Perhaps one of the most sophisticated prototypes ever launched on the market so far is the luxurious, high-tech Home Core multi-purpose product, counting as a toilet bowl, sink, vanity table and mirror and demonstrating how a multifunctional product occupying less space can often reveal considerable advantages.

In this case, the item looking like a massive coffee machine, equipped with an incorporated storage tank can recycle the water owners use to wash their hands and exploit it further for flushing the pot.

2-in-1 toilets appear to be the next green trend, since many other companies follow the same model and seem eager to implement it all across America.

This appears to be the case of the Profile Smart 305 Round Front Plus, which isn't called “smart” for nothing. The concept relies on exactly 1.28/0.8 gallons (4.8/3 liters) per flush, according to its developers and it is WaterSense labeled.
