iPhone accessory maker mophie has announced a new version of the juice pack plus, now compatible with all iPhone 4 models, including the CDMA model roaming on Verizon’s airwaves. The CDMA iPhone 4 has a few design differences that make it incompatible with existing accessories prior to its launch.

The external battery case allegedly more than doubles battery life. It has a 2,000 mAh capacity and is the largest of any external battery case produced by mophie.

According to the manufacturers, it extends talk time up to 16 hours on 2G and 8 hours on 3G. It goes up to 7 additional hours for internet use on 3G (11 hours WiFi), up to 44 hours additional for audio playback, and up to 11 hours for video playback.

A 4-light LED battery status indicator lets users know exactly how much "juice" is left. It also displays how much time remains during the charging process, according to the product’s fact sheet.

Although designed to boost battery life and protect the iPhone from getting damaged, the plus also boasts an ultra-thin and light-weight design, making it a looker as well.

It has a dual injected rubber grip for extra hold, and is only one millimeter thicker than mophie's flagship case, the juice pack air, according to the product’s technical specifications.

A special edition purple juice pack plus features a purple band around the edge of the case. Only 3,000 were produced, so hurry and order one now, if you prefer this color.

Additional flavors include black-on-black, and black with cyan, magenta or yellow banding.

You can buy one immediately for $99.95 over at mophie's website.

"It is our continued mission to deliver solutions to all Apple fans that enhance their user experience through superior design, utility and style, and we're excited to provide our most powerful battery case to all iPhone 4 users," said Susan Schedel, vice president of sales and marketing, mophie.

"We have wanted to do a limited edition juice pack for a while and the launch of the dual-compatible plus was the perfect opportunity to launch something special in both design and function," added Schedel.
