Xbox Live Free users will be able to experience all of the entertainment apps available on the console’s Xbox Live online service starting tomorrow, as Microsoft is allowing them access to these applications even if they don’t have a Gold subscription.

The Xbox 360 has slowly turned into a true entertainment device in the last few months, as Microsoft has kept on releasing special apps on its Xbox Live online service.

Now, while those apps are only available to Gold subscribers, Microsoft has decided to share them with Xbox Live Free users, in order to show them what they’re missing out.

“If you haven’t had the chance to check out the latest entertainment apps on Xbox 360, now is a great time because Xbox is unlocking their Xbox Live subscription service from Thursday, April 19 through Monday, April 23 – no Live LIVE Gold membership required for this time. Through this special promotion, anybody with an Xbox will be able to use and enjoy all of the customized entertainment app experiences featured on the Xbox Live service,” Microsoft revealed.

What’s more, some of the apps that require subscriptions, namely Netflix, Hulu Plus or EPIX, will offer their content for free, as part of special trials in the U.S.

“Hulu Plus, Netflix and EPIX will also offer free trials to new users as part of this promotion to Xbox owners in the U.S. from Thursday, April 19 through Monday, April 23. So head on over to Xbox Live to watch your favorite TV shows and movies from Hulu Plus, Netflix and EPIX – no Xbox Live Gold membership or service subscriptions required.”

The number of apps will differ according to the owner’s region, but quite a lot will be unlocked all over the world, including those for various online services, like Daily Motion or YouTube.
