It has an antenna and some really large and solid sealing caps on the sides

One would be sorely tempted to assume that the item in the photo above is a radiator, or very advanced cooling heatsink, if not for the accessories on the sides and the assurance on the part of Small PC Computers that it is, in fact, a complete PC.

For that is what it is: a full-featured personal computer, or rather industrial computing system for those who work in unfriendly weather.

Very aptly called iBrick, the newcomer measures only 8 x 5 x 3 inches / 203 x 127 x 76 mm yet still incorporates hardware on par with upper mainstream desktops. All in a package that weighs 3 pounds / 1.36 kilograms.

So what, exactly, does the case (which doubles as a heatsink) hide inside of its? For one thing, a fourth-generation Intel central processing unit.

Specifically, a 4th Generation Intel Mobile Core i3 CPU, with HD 4400 integrated graphics processor (iGP for short).

Backing it up are up to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory), as well as an SSD (solid-state drive) with a capacity of up to 512 GB (standard SATA drives can be chosen instead though, if we're reading this right).

Clearly, Small PC Computers is playing hardball here. The handheld, environment-proof system is strong enough to put HTPCs and all other mini PCs to shame, and quite a few regular desktops too, for that matter.

If not for the lack of an add-in graphics card, we'd say that the SC215ML black iBrick could substitute for a gaming computer as well. Installing an add-in board in a package so small would have been too much of a miracle though, sadly.

The rest of the hardware is pretty straightforward: three USB ports, an HDMI Video output, an RJ45 Ethernet port (more USB and Ethernet connectors optional), RS232/RS422 serial ports, Wireless LAN (complete with antenna), Bluetooth, and an optional intelligent vehicle power supply (support for 6-32V DC input, intelligent shutdown and vehicle ignition on/off support).

If you're going for the full hardcore package, you can pay extra for a second HDMI or Thunderbolt port, enabling dual-video capabilities.

All the hardware is sealed from the outside world and Small PC Computer has even included sealing caps for the connectors on the sides. No rain or dust is going to chip away at the usability and lifespan of this portable device.

The Small PC iBrick can run Linux or Windows operating system and has a starting price of $1,495 / €1,080.
