The Swedish Transport Administration has announced that all 11,000 workplaces across the country will be upgraded to Windows 8.1 as part of a five-year agreement with IT firm CGI.

The modernization initiative involves an investment of 500 million SEK, which is approximately €56 million / $76 million for all 6,500 employees.

While this is clearly an indication that organizations across the world are slowly starting to migrate to Windows 8.1, it’s also a sing that some companies are no longer seeing the modern operating system as a confusing platform that would require additional training for employees.

This was actually one of the main problems for Windows 8 users after launch, with some businesses delaying the move to this particular platform due to the number of changes that affected productivity and required companies to invest more money in staff training.
