Did y'all know that Kyle's a Jew? I guess you did or else you wouldn't have been thrilled by the opportunity that the great MTV has offered the public, that of viewing the cult-show online anywhere, in an attempt to reach consumers everywhere.
The strategy was designed after seeing the huge success that "The Daily Show with John Stewart" had, a show also available online,
that boosted television viewership, despite the predictions made at the time. "One does not diminish the other by any stretch of the imagination. That is kind of our hat trick," MTV Networks Chairman and Chief Executive Judy McGrath said at the Reuters Media Summit in New York, on Wednesday.
The previously criticized policy of MTV, that of slowly setting a foothold online, has turned around and is now very aggressively expanding its digital media presence, by building new web sites and communities on the Internet and over cell phones all around the world.
South Park is an Emmy Award-winning and an American animated television comedy series about four elementary school boys, who live in the small mountain town of South Park, Colorado. The comedy was created and written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and has been distributed and aired by Comedy Central, since 1997. The show is well-known for its pop-culture parody, scatological humour, and satirical handling of current events.
Kenneth Li reports that "in August, Comedy Central signed an extension of a deal with "South Park" creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, and agreed to create a new joint venture to spread "South Park" materials across the Web, on mobile phones and video games." So far, the venture only features a small collection of video clips from the show, but with the coming release it will most likely get enriched with new material. It can be found at
