Even though Steam for Linux has just got out of Beta, the first major price cut for the open source platforms has just been announced by Valve.

Linux users are certainly unaccustomed with sales like this one, and it’s understandable because no other developer or company has invested with such passion in the entertainment potential of the Linux platform.

As it stands right now, there are 36 available titles in the offer, and that’s without counting the DLCs. Another piece of good news is that a lot of other titles will be soon available for purchase, although they won’t be included in this amazing deal.

The prices benefit from discounts ranging from 50% to 75%, and you can get games like Crusader Kings II, Serious Sam 3: BFE, and Bastions for ridiculously small prices.

Valve also promised a free Tux item in-game for everyone who will play Team Fortress 2 by the end of the month.

The promotion will last until February 21, 10.00 AM (PST).
