AIO systems become more popular as performance becomes less relevant

The popularity of AIO systems has increased considerably in the last years and the trend is only going to go up in the next years. Many analysts put this on the fact that people are looking for new designs, space saving solutions and the popularity of Microsoft’s latest Windows8 operating system.

We believe the main reason behind this trend is the fact that performance has increased so much in the past years that people can now afford to look for other factors when acquiring a new computer system.

The performance is now satisfactory despite the fact that the components used are not high-end, but are rather selected to fit a certain maximum energy consumption and power dissipation.

It seems that the sales of AIO systems are reportedly only going to increase in the following years starting from 15 million systems sold in 2011 and reaching a high 25 million in 2016.

Buyers searching for an AIO system should keep in mind that this type of computer has greatly reduced upgrade options and is more expensive to repair and thus has a shorter life cycle than a normal PC.
