One of the most recent episodes of the All-American Muslim show launched by TLC managed to make more than a few animal fans truly angry.

Shadia Amen-McDermott, one of the protagonists has complained about severe allergies and convinced her husband to get rid of their old dog, PETA informs.

Her decision was immediately put into practice. The couple has agreed to ditch old Wrigley and their action has made several PETA supporters announce that they would boycott TLC until the worldwide famous couple would agree to assume responsibility and bring the animal back home.

Her action was criticized by other celebrities, like Simone Reyes, from the popular Running Russell Simmons who wrote an online letter letting the public know how she feels.

“ My heart was beating outside of my chest with sadness and rage [...]If you mess with an animal I'm coming for you. So, here I am and I'm calling you out,” warned Reyes.

"Let's be brutally honest, Wrigley is an old dog so it's safe to assume you wouldn't have to deal with your issues for very long anyway ... then you could decide to not get another dog after Wrigley lives out his lifespan. Fair is fair," notes Reyes in her letter.

Shadia is cold and heartless. Jeff needed a backbone to stand up to his wife and protect his aging, loyal friend. Poor Wrigley has precious little time left and should have been able to live his remaining years with his family...he deserves that much for 16 years of loyalty. That poor dog was heartbroken and confused. Shame on Jeff and Shadia...how utterly selfish can you be!

I can't even comment. I am still sobbing. I couldn't imagine getting rid of my dog. He should have stated on their first date has a dog and not getting rid if it. I could never do that to my Boston, Henry. I am still crying....

I would have never married someone who was so unwilling. That he had to give away his dog aftere so many years. I can't imagine. I have a Beagle who is around the same age as Wrigley. No person could make me give her up. There are medications for allergies. A lot of them. At least try some. Poor dog.

Thank you Simone. I hope we can change Jeff's mind and go get Wrigley. Please bring her home where she belongs.

Jeff, you must have known your soon to be wife had allergies from Wrigley. How did you deal with it? She deserves to be with you in her senior years. She is much to old to be in a sanctuary with all those animals. She needs a quiet home as she's used to. Obviously you did something right she's 15-16 years old. A dog doesn't live that long without excellent care. I have a 16 year old dog with dementia and there is no way he would survive anywhere but his home. Wrigley deserves better than this. She counted on you to be there for her when she grew old and we all make promises to take care of them till the end. Nothing should break that promise

I watched in disbelief as poor Rigley was abandoned. Not only do I hold Jeff and his wife accountable for this insensitive act but also TLC. Their desire for sensationalism overtook recognizing the basic needs of an elderly pet. I am more than overjoyed that so many ate speaking out on this poor dogs behalf. If only TLC knew that if they did the right thing and intervened somehow to assist in making this situation work, they would have won over American viewers and more. In AMERICA we love respect and adore our animals. Pure stupidity and insensitivity.

Shadia rules the roost in this family. Her husband will eventually resent her and this marriage will be doomed. As the years go by, her dominance will get worse, my heart goes out to him.

Thank you Simone! That women is a poor excuse for a wife and human being. But, her husband is even worse, bc the dog was his responsibilty and FRIEND!

I'm sick that I decided to give this show a chance. I just watched the episode where Wrigley is left at the "sanctuary", and can't stop sobbing. Shadia is one of the most manipulative people I've seen on ANY reality show, and Jeff shows himself to be a complete p----. She goes on and on about her "allergies", but too often reverts back to religion/culture reasons for "getting rid of" Wrigley, a 15+ year old pet! Allergies can be addressed with all types of medication protocols/ventilation systems - that part was just a convenient excuse. From what I've seen online, Wrigley is back home now, but I'm done with this show - not only was I disgusted this episode by the Wrigley thing, but the idea of putting a 9-year-old in a hijab just made me sick. And I really did want to like this show....

I DON'T BUY THE ALLERGY ARGUMENT! SHE KNEW HE HAD A DOG WHEN THEY MARRIED. HE GAVE UP HIS RELIGION AND CONVERTED! DON'T MOVE! STAY UNTIL WRIGLY PASSES-HE IS OLD! HAVE WOOD FLOORS! I DON'T PORTEND GOOD THINGS FOR THIS MARRAIGE WHEN HE REALISES HOW MANY PRECIOUS THINGS HE IS GIVING UP!
THIS WAS NOT A COMPROMISE
