Alienware's most powerful gaming desktop has just been relaunched in an updated hardware configuration. The Area-51 7500 computer now comes with a Nvidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI-based motherboard
and a GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card to go along with it.
The technology update is meant to boost the performance of the Area-51 7500 gaming system, in order to keep it in line with the more resource-hungry gaming titles. According to Alienware Product Marketing Manager Marc Diana, the new offering not only that will bring more horsepower to the gaming enthusiasts, but it will also be more overclockable than its predecessor.
"With support for PCI-Express 2.0, DDR3 memory, a completely open and higher BIOS overclocking than its predecessor, and now the industry’s most advanced graphics solution, the Area-51 sets the pace for desktop performance. Everyone else is just trying to keep up," Diana claimed.
The platform built around the nForce 790i Ultra SLI chipset comes with full support for DDR3 memory modules running at core frequencies of more than 2000 MHz. Moreover, the built-in support for 1600MHz FSB Intel quad-core Penryns allow users to take full advantage of world's most powerful CPU offerings.
The new Alienware Area-51 desktop PC can be configured online to perfectly match the user's performance needs. The system can hold up to 4GB dual-channel DDR3 memory at 1333MHz, as well as dual RAID 0 hard-disk drives for a total amount of 2TB of storage.
Alineware's system is, however, more than a gaming rig: it comes with an internal Blu-Ray drive for the home-theater PC enthusiasts.
The graphics update was an essential step in keeping the Area-51 7500 gaming desktop PC the most powerful hardware configuration on the market. "Alienware users expect top-tier graphics," Diana said. "By blending the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 and nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard technology with Alienware’s unique and superior architecture, we can continue to deliver the best each and every time," Diana concluded.
