Computer maker Alienware is considering the release of a smartphone, though it is still waiting for the right moment to do it, and won’t have it available in the near future, it seems.

Frank Azor, Alienware’s general manager, has confirmed to SlashGear such plans, while also adding that the company is currently waiting for the right technology to emerge before plunging into the smartphone market.

The maker is looking to build a smartphone that would deliver an experience in line with what users are looking for in any Alienware products, and plans on waiting until it is able to do so. Similarly, it will release a tablet PC too when the time is right, it seems.

“The technologies that are available today are not ready, in our opinion, for us to deliver the experiences that we believe need to be successful in any of those types of form factors – smartphone, tablet – right now,” he said.
