In the United Kingdom

Rebellion Developments and SEGA must be happy as the latest United Kingdom videogame chart shows that their latest release, Aliens vs. Predator, took first place in its first week on sale, showing that players still have fond memories of the franchise and are looking forward to being scared as the Marine, stalk their prey as the Alien and act all high tech when playing the Predator.

With a fresh release at number one, it's now no surprise to see that Just Dance from Ubisoft, a casual dancing title relying on pop hits to get gamers moving around, is at number two, forcing BioShock 2, the return to Rapture engineered by 2K Games, to go down straight to number three in the chart.

New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii managed to jump up two positions from six to reach fourth place and show off the staying power of old school 2D platforming. The top five is complemented by FIFA 10 from EA Sports, the football simulation that lost two places in the last week but still has quite a bit of popularity thanks to the internal championship and the return of the Champions League.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the biggest videogame release of 2009, lost two places in the chart to go down to six, finally showing some fatigue, followed by Wii Sports Resort from Nintendo, which went from five to seven. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games from SEGA is at eight, while Wii Fit Plus from Nintendo is at nine, down from seven. Army of Two: the 40th Day from Electronic Arts managed to close down the top ten.

Vancouver 2010 from SEGA did not succeed in getting further than eleventh place as the Olympic Games got underway, while Mass Effect 2 and Bayonetta exited the top ten this week.
