Aliens: Thanatos Encounter is a top-down action game released in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. The action takes place aboard a spaceship named Thanatos that has been infested with aliens. Players can assume the role of numerous colonial marines (each with their own unique weaponry) as they work to clear each stage of aliens. If the player's life is depleted, that marine is "captured" and must be rescued from an alien nest hidden in the stage. Extra weapons and health boosts can be picked up during gameplay and power loaders (as seen in the film Aliens) can also be used against the alien threat.
Gameplay consists of making your way through about 12 HUGE levels with mission objectives ranging from save the lone scientist to finding a new experimental weapon to killing the queen. In the player's arsenal there are at least 12 different weapons which include Pulse Rifles, Flamethrowers, Shotguns and Grenade Launchers. In addition, the player can equip a Marine's left and right hands with different weapons or items. The aliens are extremely well done and you can easily tell from the nine variations of the beasts. They aren't a bunch of cheesy variations thrown in like the ''parakeet
alien'', there are variations in their growth, like facehuggers, soldiers, etc. We provide you with a list of passwords, needed to get through the levels,
in case you got stuck and you will, as the game's not as easy as it looks:
PasswordsThese are passwords for the easy difficulty setting with all 5 marines still alive.
