14 DAY TRIAL // Many would think that with the removal of Aliens: Colonial Marines and Aliens vs. Predator (2010) from Steam nothing good has been lost, but no games should be removed from the market, no matter how bad they are.
Well, it looks like the end of 2014 proved fatal for a dozen of games, which have been removed from various digital distribution services like Steam, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
We have already reported earlier today that December 30 was the last day when Xbox one players could purchase six of the games listed on Xbox Live Arcade before they were removed by Microsoft.
December 31, 2014, was the last day PC gamers could purchase Aliens: Colonial Marines and Aliens vs. Predator (2010) titles and add them to their Steam libraries.
Both games can still be purchased from other digital resellers
The games are still available for purchase through other digital retailers, but beginning this year you won't find them on Steam anymore.
Obviously, those who already own the games on Steam will still be able to download the play them like nothing happened, but those who want to purchase them will have to look somewhere else.
It's unclear why Sega did not want to keep these two titles, but apparently they were separate license, which the publisher thought to forfeit without further warning.
Currently, there are still two games in the Aliens franchise that Sega sells on Steam: Alien vs. Predator (2000) and Alien: Isolation.
It's also worth mentioning that some third-party digital retailers might offer both Aliens vs. Predator (2010) and Aliens: Colonial Marines with Steam keys, so you will still be able to add them to your Steam library if that's what you want.
We're not sure how long these games will still be sold with Steam keys through other retailers, but since they were removed from Valve's digital distribution service, it shouldn't be available for too long now.
