The same 1080p full HD resolution and the same undisclosed framerate await players

Creative Assembly, the team behind the upcoming Alien Isolation first-person survival horror game, has confirmed that the new title will retain the same 1080p native full HD resolution on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the same unconfirmed framerate, as it doesn't want to have any noticeable differences between the two versions.

Alien Isolation was revealed to the world officially earlier this year and promises to tell a new story set in the famous universe that's more similar to the 1979 movie than more recent experiments like Aliens: Colonial Marines.

The game sees players control Amanda Ripley, daughter of movie protagonist Ellen, as she explores an abandoned space station that's home to just one yet quite fearsome Xenomorph.

After sharing plenty of details about the general feeling and the tone of the game, which is focused more on survival horror, Creative Assembly's Gary Napper has talked with TotalXbox about the performance of the game and how its resolution is a native 1080p full HD one on both the PS4 and the Xbox One.

"That's actually not something I get that into, because we build it on one central engine and then kick it out to different versions," Napper said about the resolution and performance. "So when I think about working on the game it's almost platform agnostic because I only think about the differences between platforms and the different mechanics we can use like the light on the PS4 pad and the stuff with Kinect 2.0."

It's unclear just how much the game will take advantage of the PS4's DualShock 4 or the Xbox One's Kinect sensor, as Alien Isolation is still a bit far from its release.

However, Napper has pledged that the game will have the same framerate and the same performance on the PS4 and Xbox One, as there will be no noticeable differences between those two versions. The PC release, however, is certain to have more options and can be scaled up above 1080p.

"So I think with frame rate it's pretty comparable. There's no noticeable drop or change in graphics between them. Obviously there are a lot more options to tweak and scale up on the PC."

Alien Isolation is also coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, but it's unclear just how much the visual fidelity has been reduced so that the game runs on the old consoles.

Expect to hear more about Alien Isolation as we get closer to its October 7 release worldwide.
