The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are using the E3 2014 trade show to deliver a new video for their upcoming Alien: Isolation, which is designed to focus on the feeling of dread that the title can deliver.

The footage is entirely new and shows some of the core gameplay mechanics while hinting that Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen, might have to face more dangers that the actual xenomorph in order to escape the space station where she is searching for clues about her mother's fate.

The Creative Assembly team adds, “As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.”

The company says that it will use all the core elements of the survival horror series, which means that the players will always be underpowered when compared to the enemies they face and will have to use their limited resources and stealth to progress without being killed.

Alien: Isolation will be out on October 7 of this year on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and current-gen consoles, but a delay to 2015 is always a possibility.
