Developed by Myriad Group, a well-known company focusing on mobile software, Alien Dalvik enables carriers, OEMs, as well as application stores to deploy Android apps across devices running on different operating systems without compromising performance.

Basically, Alien Dalvik allows most Android applications to run unmodified, which provides application store owners with the ability to create Android application store services much faster and easier by simply repackaging Android Package (APK) files.
According to the developer, the end user's experience will be completely transparent when using Alien Dalvik, as the applications will appear as native and will smoothly install on any compatible device.
Myriad Group is a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance and it has played an important role in the development of Android ever since the mobile platform was launched by Google.
Headquartered in Duebendorf-Zurich, Switzerland, Myriad provides handset manufacturers and operators with both individual components and complete solutions for their mobile phones.

Myriad Alien Dalvik will be commercially available later this year on the MeeGo platform. Support for other platforms will be announced in the coming months.
Alien Dalvik will be demonstrated for the first time on the Nokia N900 at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 14th-17th.
