Alicia Silverstone declares her love for simple things by joining an ad campaign for PETA. Oh, and I forgot to mention one tiny detail -
she's completely naked, in some really hot pictures with her getting slowly out of a pool, water running down her body, the whole classy (and classic) act. You get the idea - you can also watch the video below - and for the moment, all I have to say is that she manages to look positively amazing.
In addition to the 30-second TV commercial for the goveg.com campaign launched by PETA, Silverstone is also featured in a poster in which she lies naked, with her back to the camera, under giant letters proclaiming "I am Alicia Silverstone and I am a vegetarian".
I have to say, if going vegan makes you look this good, I might be contemplating a little change of lifestyle myself. Bear in mind that the 'Clueless' actress was also voted the sexiest female vegetarian in 2004.
The ads take a classic bandwagon approach to dropping the meat intake altogether, and if you're not too focused on getting a good look at the actress' stunning figure and glowing skin, you might hear the voiceover which goes: "I am Alicia Silverstone, and I am a vegetarian. There's nothing in the world that's changed me as much as this. I feel so much better and have so much more energy. It's amazing". Yes, I'll say - but I must admit that goes for the toned body more than for the things behind it. How shallow of me.
Silverstone also confesses to taking up being a vegan 11 years ago. "Being vegan truly is the secret to my life's joy and peace" she claims. "I feel physically and spiritually better than I could ever have imagined knowing that I am doing everything I can to reduce animal suffering with simple lifestyle choices" she adds. "Once I went vegan I lost the weight I wanted to lose, my nails were stronger, and my skin was glowing". Yes, we can pretty much see that. And while I still have to give some thought to the whole going vegan business, I know a lot of friends who will have a couple more looks at the photo and will definitely go easy on the burgers. At least for some time.
