Sacha Baron Cohen aka Ali G threatened and hit a photographer at the premiere of "Wedding Crashers".
Apparently, Ali G grabbed snapper Richard Corkery by the throat at the after-show party in New York, when Corkery tried to take pictures with Ali's fiance Isla Fisher, who co-stars in the film.
Corkery said: "It was shocking. You just don't expect that someone would grab your throat." Nevertheless, the witness from the incident declared that Cohen told the photographer not to take pictures without permission.
Cohen's publicist, Matt Labov, has denied the claims: "(Cohen) did not put a hand on Dick. He put his hand in front of the camera but did not touch him."
Ali G has subsequently become a UK media phenomenon, with his own TV show. He was featured in Madonna's music video for her song Music as a limousine driver and subsequently recorded his own record with the rap/reggae performer Shaggy.
In 2002 he was the central character in the feature film Ali G Indahouse, in which he became elected to Parliament and had to foil a plot to bulldoze Staines. He is now the main character of HBO's Da Ali G Show, which also features two other characters, Borat Sagdiyev and Bruno. (Wikipedia)
