“It’s not true,” Alfie says, Gemma Whalen was “always first choice for the part”

Lying about something when you’re famous is never a good idea if you don’t cover all the bases first, because the consequences of getting caught can range from huge public embarrassment to fan backlash. Lying and getting called out in public for it must be even worse.

Some time ago, when talking about how her brother Alfie was doing now that he was a huge TV star (he’s Theon Greyjoy on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” by the way), singer Lily Allen revealed that she too was asked to be on the hit show – and to play his sister, no less.

She also said that he got the part right after she told him he needed to get a proper job, and that she turned it down because she would have had to allow him to feel her up, which she found gross because he was her brother.

She must be biting that tongue of hers as we speak, because Alfie himself is denying this ever happened. Lily was never approached to be on “Game of Thrones,” she made that up.

“I heard about this, yeah,” he tells NY Mag’s Vulture. “The only thing I’m going to say on that is that it’s not true. And also that Gemma Whalen was always their first choice for the part. And she’s fantastic. And that’s the only thing I’m going to say about that.”

Uh oh. If I were Lily, next time I wanted to get… creative on any given topic, I’d first make sure I had everything covered.
