Just a couple of days ago, on November 2, some girl snapped a photo of a teenage boy working at a Target store in the US and turned to Twitter to share it with the world. The photo, identifying the boy as Alex from Target, has since gone viral.

It's been shared hundreds of thousands of times, it's been turned into dozens of memes and it's made the teenage boy insanely popular with the girls. Those who haven't had the chance to meet him in person and only have this photo to go by, to be more precise.

Now, unless you're familiar with music in this day and age (and we're using the term “music” in the absolute broadest sense), you're probably wondering how and why thousands of teenage girls ended up falling head over heels in crush with Alex from Target.

Well, wonder no more. Long story short, Alex from Target bears a striking resemblance to a young and not-yet-in-trouble-with-the-law Justin Bieber. That's why his photo has become a viral sensation and that's why everybody now wants him to scan and bag their purchases.

“Imagine Alex pinning you against the wall as he whispers in your ear ‘Your total will be 23.47,’” one of Alex's fans wrote on Twitter. “He scanned my items when no one else would,” another fan joked.

Who the heck is Alex from Target anyways?

Not to disappoint anybody, but Alex from Target is just a regular teenage boy living in the city of Frisco in Texas, US. His real name is Alexander Christopher LaBoeuf, and he attends the local Heritage High School, Daily Mail informs.

By the looks of it, Alexander was quite surprised to learn that all it took to turn him into an Internet star was one lousy photo showing him hard at work scanning other people's purchases. “Am I famous now?” the boy wrote in a message on his own profile.

“Already fake accounts of me. Now i have to change my number... So many followers. Thanks for all the positive tweets, I'll be posting more soon!” Alexander Christopher LaBoeuf, known as @acl163 on Twitter, later added.

The bad news: he's taken, girls

It is with deepest sadness and regret that we have to inform you that Alex from Target, Alexander Christopher LaBoeuf, @ack163 or whatever else you want to call this teenager is taken. That's right, he has a girlfriend. Her name is Lindsey Diers, and apparently, she isn't exactly thrilled about Alex's sudden rise to fame.

On the contrary, she finds all the attention a wee scary and would love it if everybody were to stop posting messages about her boyfriend and commenting on his photo. Fear not, Lindsey, Alex's 15 minutes of fame will soon be over.
