Until not long ago, Alex Pettyfer was believed to be the “next Robert Pattinson”: British, young, handsome and with lots of promising movies coming out. As reports of his nasty temper continue to make the rounds, he may have just driven the last nail in the coffin of his career.
At least, that’s what Ted Casablanca of
E! Online believes. Pettyfer, who starred so far in “I Am Number Four” and “Beastly,” both received poorly by critics and audiences alike, will be featured in the upcoming issue of VMAN magazine.
Casablanca got his hands on a few excerpts from the interview – and they’re really not doing Alex any favors.
Aside from telling the reporter that he has a tattoo that reads “thank you” on his nether regions (“In case I forget to say it,” he explains), Alex also goes to great lengths to trash Hollywood.
Ironically, Casablanca points out, this is the same Hollywood that made him rich because, before coming to LA, few had heard of him.
“LA is growing on me a little bit but it’s still a [expletive] hole,” the British actor says.
“I think it’s this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it’s fantastic, but socially it’s disgusting. I wish they’d run all the [expletive]s out,” he adds.
Alex doesn’t just hate LA: he also hates having to attend movie premieres and do the red carpet.
“I really don’t give a [expletive] about any of that. I wish I had some interesting stories about living in LA, but mostly I just do my work and then go home,” he says.
Though Alex aspires to become a great actor, so far, his experience is telling him that there’s not much pleasure to be derived from this either.
“Being an actor is like being in prison. You go, you serve your time, you try and replicate Johnny Depp’s career and then you move to Paris,” he says.
Alex Pettyfer started as a very promising young actor, as noted above, but his popularity saw a sharp decline in recent months, particularly after his
explosive breakup from Dianna Agron (“Glee”), and rumors that he stalked and threatened her.
