Alec Baldwin's Visit to the Shrink

One of Hollywood's golden rules say that if you're a star, you must marry a star and that, when you divorce your 'soul-mate', you should make things as messy as possible and throw as much dirt on his/her reputation as you can.

This certainly applies to Alec Baldwin and his ex-wife Kim Basinger. They got married in 1993 and separated in 2000, due to 'irreconcilable differences', though sources say that Alec is known for his domestic violent behavior.

The failed marriage resulted in a daughter named Ireland, who got caught in the crossfire of her two parents for six years now. The battle moved from the court, where both actors claimed full custody of Ireland, to a more mental ground as Kim and Alec each claim that the other is trying to brainwash the child.

Only last year, in October, Baldwin told the judge (on the very few occasions that he was actually present in the court-room) that Kim has, quote, a 'pathological need' to set Ireland against him. It seems that, this time, the wheel has turned on him. He is now asked by the judge to be evaluated by a psychiatrist, in order to see if Kim's claims are justified.

Baldwin has been given a week's notice to conform and look for a shrink. If he fails to do so, Judge Nelson will appoint one for him. According to BBC News, the judge added: 'Someone, an evaluator needs to spend time with Ireland and the parents to work on that issue'.
