Management bans alcohol on Amy Winehouse’s upcoming European tour, claims report

Amy Winehouse is getting ready to hit the road with an European tour and, just to be on the safe side and to allow her the chance to meet her contractual obligations, her people are making sure she doesn’t even come close to temptation.

She reportedly kicked her heavy drugs habit, but she’s not out of the woods just yet, because she’s turned to alcohol for solace, word has it.

In fact, in mid-May this year, the singer was back in rehab, in a bid to deal with her alcohol addiction in preparation for the tour.

The Sun claims she’s failed in her attempt: just days after walking out of rehab, she was out drinking again, so her people are taking one final step to ensure she stays sober for the duration of the tour: banning alcohol.

“The star’s management have told hotel staff in Belgrade, Serbia – where she opens on June 18 – to remove all alcohol from rooms booked by troubled Amy and her entourage,” the British tab says.

“Room service staff are also under strict orders not to deliver any drinks. Other hotels on the 12-date itinerary are understood to have been told the same,” The Sun claims.

“The move came as Amy, 27, was seen on a bender in a London pub beer garden this week – just four days after checking out of The Priory addiction clinic,” the tab argues.

Amy’s publicist has not yet commented on the decision to ban alcohol on the European tour, assuming the above story is accurate.

Come to think of it, he wouldn’t even admit that she was having issues with alcohol abuse when she went to rehab either, so perhaps there’s nothing to this story, fans can hope.

“[Amy] has embarked on a treatment program at the Priory Clinic. She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice,” he said at the end of last month, as we also reported at the time.
