A stylish low-end mobile phone

Every mobile phone manufacturer that counts has presented something at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona. Most of you have already heard of what Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson or Samsung had to show.

The one manufacturer that didn't manage to grab as much attention was Alcatel, even though it had some pretty nice and stylish handsets to present as well. Maybe some people failed to notice Alcatel's presentation stand at the 3GSM because it wasn't really an ordinary stand. The manufacturer thought it best to put all its creations on display in a truck parked outside the buildings.

Just as usual, Alcatel is still focusing on the low-end market and has presented quite a few new mobile phones scheduled for a 2007 release.

One of these phones is the Elle No 3, that primarily is a fashion phone, somewhat slimmer than most of Alcatel's products and clearly targets the female customers.

The mobile phone comes with a slider form factor and is available in a variety of colors including pink, orange, purple, green and white. Features include a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, a 256k color screen with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and an MP3 player to keep the user entertained.

While we've seen much slimmer phones, at 16.7 mm the Elle No 3 is not at all bad and can be easily carried around in even the smallest handbag. Along with the phone, the user will also get a necklace that can be used for hanging a Bluetooth headset around one's neck.

Aside from that, expect all the usual features such as GPRS support, Bluetooth for connectivity or a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion. It will be available in the UK starting June this year, but there is no info available regarding the Elle No 3's price at the moment.
