TCL is one of the major handset makers in China. Alcatel is a subsidiary of TCL that usually handles the international smartphone releases, so while we might not get to see a TCL smartphone on sale in Europe or North America, Alcatel handsets are available in both regions.

Today, it looks like a new TCL high-end smartphone has been spotted in benchmark. According to a new report, the smartphone is expected to be announced soon, but it's unclear whether or not it will make it internationally.

The so-called TCL P650M popped up recently in GFXBench, which is why we know most of the specs included by the Chinese company. Keep in mind though that since this is just a prototype, there might be differences between this version and the final product.

No word on international availability yet

That being said, let's see what the TCL P650M has to offer in terms of specs. First of all, the smartphone will be equipped with a large 5.6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

On the inside, the phablet will pack a powerful octa-core Exynos 7580 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, which will be complemented by a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

In addition, TCL P650M is said to come with 16GB of internal memory, but there's a high chance that it will pack microSD card slot for memory expansion as well.

TCL's upcoming smartphone will feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there will be a 5-megapixel camera with the option to shoot 1080p video as well.

We also know that TCL P650M will ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but we don't have any information yet on when that might happen.
