A new Alcatel smartphone is now available for purchase in India, namely the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy (8000D), which was made official at the MWC 2013 show in Barcelona earlier this year.

The mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features a price tag of Rs. 12,090 ($222 / 170 Euro) over at Snapdeal, although it was made official at Rs. 12,900 ($237 / 182 Euro).

As fonearena notes, the Scribe Easy is the third smartphone in Alcatel’s One Touch series to have arrived on shelves in India lately, after the handset vendor launched its One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra smartphones last week.

Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy 8000D is one of the largest Android smartphones coming from Alcatel, though it packs only mid-range specs and a rather affordable price tag.

The handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and features 512MB of RAM, along with 2.4GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specs list of this device also includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and video recording capabilities, as well as a front camera for video calling.

Furthermore, it comes with Dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) with Dual Standby capabilities, 3G (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps) connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and built-in GPS receiver, as well as with 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio.

Additionally, it arrives on shelves with HD sound capabilities, while also packing a dedicated touch pen, as well as magnetic MagicFlip.

Alcatel’s large One Touch Scribe Easy is powered by a 2500 mAh battery and runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The smartphone is only 9.8mm thick and weighs 163 grams.
