We reported a few days ago that Alcatel was planning to launch its high-end One Touch Idol X+ smartphone in India, exclusively via major retailer Flipkart.

Well, it looks like the smartphone has just been confirmed by the Chinese handset maker to arrive in India on June 3 for Rs 16,999 ($300 / €210) outright.

Customers in India will be pleased to know Alcatel one Touch Idol X+ will come bundled with Boomband activity tracker and JBL in-ear headphones, which makes the deal more worthy for those looking for a high-end Android smartphone.

Keep in mind that in order to use the Boomband with the smartphone, you will need to download and install the Boomband Life application from Alcatel’s website.

Curious enough, the application seems to be compatible with Android 4.3 and up, but the One Touch Idol X+ runs an older version.

The bad news is the One Touch Idol X+ ships with an older version of Android onboard, namely Jelly Bean 4.2. Even though the smartphone was officially introduced on the market back in December, Alcatel has yet to confirm whether or not the One Touch Idol X+ will receive an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

Aside from that, the smartphone offers more than decent specs for the price you pay. For example, it comes equipped with a “true” octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 2GHz, Mali-450MP4 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

As fonearena points out, Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support. Other connectivity options are available as well, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support.

The One Touch Idol X+ boasts a large 5-inch IPS LCD full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating for extra protection.

Another downside of the Idol X+ would be that it lacks microSD card slot, so users will be left with only a little above 11GB of storage to install apps and games.

On the positive side, the high-end smartphone packs an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is powered by a non-removable 2500 mAh battery, which should provide up to 320 hours of standby time (240 hours in 3G mode) or up to 20 hours of talk time (12 hours in 3G mode).
