The Canadian carrier offers the smartphone for $250 (€165) outright

One day after Canadian carrier Bell added the Alcatel One Touch Idol X to its portfolio of affordable Android smartphones, the Virgin Mobile operator announced that the handset was available through its official channels as well.

Customers in Canada who purchase the One Touch Idol X via Virgin Mobile for $250 (€165) outright will also a receive $25 (€16) prepaid Visa card.

The smartphone runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system and packs a more than decent 1.5 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589 processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR SXG544 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features scratch-resistant glass.

There’s also a 13.1-megapixel photo snapper on the back with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera in the front.

The One Touch Idol X packs 16GB of internal memory, along with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
