The tablet will be available for purchase beginning with Q4 2013

With only a few days left until the IFA 2013 trade fair opens its gates, Alcatel wanted to be one of the first to announce new products.

The company revealed earlier today the upcoming availability of two smartphones, the Alcatel One Touch Idol S and Idol Mini. In addition, a new Alcatel tablet will be launched later this year, the One Touch Evo 8HD.

According to the company, the One Touch Evo 8HD will be powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and will pack a 1.6 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor.

The slate has been confirmed to feature an 8-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1024 x 768 pixels, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.

Furthermore, the tablet packs a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, and Bluetooth 3.0. No word on price or availability yet, but we’ll keep you informed when new info emerges.
