Alcatel-Lucent to Supply Mobile TV Solution to SIC TV

Alcatel-Lucent announced that it has been selected by SIC TV, a Portuguese television broadcaster, to supply a mobile TV solution. This will enable SIC TV to create mobile TV programs, allowing Portuguese consumers equipped with video-enabled handsets to enjoy more television content.

The supplied solution includes Alcatel-Lucent's Media Producer, an automation platform for the creation of mobile TV content. By allowing flexible reformatting of different types of content for mobile handsets, as well as the creation of play list-style programming, the solution addresses the needs of both content providers and broadcasters. Alcatel-Lucent Media Producer will allow SIC TV to blend live programs and on-demand content, seamlessly to consumers.

Alcatel-Lucent media solutions include mobile interactive TV applications, which allow a high degree of interactivity and personalization and complement traditional made-for-mobile content, creating the possibility to provide targeted ad-supported content to users. Alcatel-Lucent currently enables TV, video and music services for more than 115 service providers around the world.
