Alcatel is already present in India with some of its One Touch smartphones, but the company wants to increase its share on one of the largest markets in the world.

In this regard, the company’s officials have decided to brings several new Android handsets in India, which will be available for purchase within the next few days.

Keep in mind though that, while new for the Indian market, some of these devices were actually released in lots of countries many months ago.

Alcatel brought members of two of its One Touch series of smartphones in India, Hero and Idol. There are no less than seven Alcatel devices that have been officially introduced today, foneareana reports.

We only have info about the One Touch Idol Mini, One Touch Idol X, One Touch Idol S and One Touch Hero, which will soon go on sale in India.

Sadly, Alcatel has only confirmed that the One Touch Hero will be available for purchase for Rs 30,000 ($495 / €370) outright, so stay tuned for more updates on pricing options for the other three devices.

Alcatel One Touch Hero seems to be the most expensive of the four, so the other three handsets should be priced much lower. But let’s see what customers get for the price mentioned earlier.

First of all, we’re disappointed to let you know that all Alcatel smartphones announced today will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. However, we hope that the company will be able to offer a KitKat upgrade very soon, otherwise this downside will definitely hurt sales.

The One Touch Hero is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTel MT6589T processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It also packs 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Another selling point of the phone could be the large 6-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display, which puts it in the phablet category. It’s also worth mentioning that the One Touch Hero boasts an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing photo snapper.

The Alcatel one Touch Idol Mini sports a much smaller 4.3-inch display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The smartphone also features dual cameras (5-megapixel rear-camera and VGA camera in the front) and a 1700mAh battery.

Next in line, Alcatel One Touch Idol X boasts 5-inch full HD (1080p) display and a 13-megapixel photo snapper in the back. On the inside, the handset is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

Last but not least, the One Touch Idol S is a 4.7-inch HD (720p) smartphone that packs an 8-megapixel main camera, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.

“We are delighted to launch our series of smartphones specially designed to cater to the demands of the Indian customers. ALCATEL ONE TOUCH brings a great value product by redefining user experience with its innovative design, display and technology.
