Albatron is a Taiwan-based company that specializes in designing and developing NVIDIA-based motherboards and graphics cards, as well as industrial motherboards, DRAM modules and other audio-related products. However, it looks like the company will also make its debut in the portable computer systems market with the release of its first mini Tablet PC, which has been showcased earlier this year at the Computex show in Taipei.

Despite the fact that its name is similar to one of ASUS' most successful product lineups, the Eee PC, Albatron's new Mini Tablet PC has been designed as a straightforward Tablet PC and is not meant in any way to compete with sub-notebook products like the one already mentioned. As a matter of fact, the specification list for the Tee PC is largely different from any other netbook available on today's market. This actually translates into no Intel Atom or VIA Nano platform, but an ARM926 processor running at a maximum speed of 400MHz instead.

The Tablet PC features a 7-inch display, capable of outputting a maximum resolution of 800 by 480 pixels. There's 128MBB of DDR memory and a 128MB NAND flash storage solution, which can be extended through the SD Card expansion slot built in the tablet. Aside from that, the Tee PC sports WiFi and Bluetooth support, and runs a Win CE 6.0 operating system with pre-installed WordPad, MediaPlayer and Internet Explorer. A software-based keyboard for data input is provided, but users can also choose to connect a standard USB keyboard through an available USB slot.

The built-in battery of the Tablet PC can provide a maximum lifetime of 10.8 working hours. The physical dimensions of Tee PC are also impressive, with the device weighing a maximum of 343g. With the docking port, users will benefit from up to two USB slots, two audio jacks and internal speakers. Unfortunately, so far, the company hasn't released any details regarding the product's pricing and availability.
