Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that, after releasing the PC version of Alan Wake last week, it has already recouped the costs of its development and marketing efforts.

Alan Wake became pretty popular on the Xbox 360 when it was released almost two years ago, so Remedy decided to self-publish the game’s PC version, hoping that fans would also support the game on this new platform.

It seems that the response was more than overwhelming, as the studio’s executive vice president, Aki Jarvilehto, confirmed that Remedy has already recouped the costs of development and marketing in just two days of Alan Wake’s availability on the PC.

The game quickly rose to the top spot on the Steam sales charts and will now guarantee more money for Remedy to spend on future installments in the series.

Given these great sales, it’s quite likely that the upcoming spinoff called Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, which is out this week on the Xbox 360, might also appear on the PC at a later time.
