An Alan Wake sequel might still appear in the future, after developer Remedy Entertainment finishes working on the highly ambitious Quantum Break for the Xbox One platform, according to the studio.

Remedy Entertainment, the developer of hit franchises like Max Payne or even Alan Wake, is currently working hard on Quantum Break, an ambitious action adventure experience that revolves heavily around time manipulation and ties into a live action TV series that will be ran alongside it to fill in the gaps of the story.

However, after completing the new title, an Alan Wake sequel is a possibility, according to Remedy's Sam Lake.

"You never know about the future and as have we have said about Alan Wake, the sequel didn't work out at this point," he told TotalXbox. "But definitely we are looking for opportunities to do more, someday, when the time is right."

Lake emphasized that, while the Alan Wake franchise now has over 3 million units sold across the Xbox 360 and PC, at the beginning it wasn't that popular, leading Remedy to start focusing on other things instead of a full-fledged sequel.

Quantum Break is set to appear in 2015 for the Xbox One platform and you can bet that more details will be shared until then.
