This is the first time that the TV legend misses the early show for no good reason

Al Roker has missed his morning show on Tuesday because his alarm clock didn't go off. While the excuse sounds mundane, Roker never misses a show.

The veteran's morning special, “Wake Up With Al,” airs at 6 a.m. on The Weather Channel.

In fact, this is the first time ever that he has been absent without a good reason in 39 years, Parade informs.

He did not try to come up with any explanation for his absence, and simply tweeted that he overslept.

“After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show. Missed #WUWA. But will be on time for @today,” he posted.

Roker gets up every morning at 3:30 a.m. to be in time for the first show. He then stays around and he is featured for another three hours on the Today show.
