Terrorists using the Internet for PR

The second in command of Al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahri, had a video intervention in which he mocked the British withdrawal of troops from Southern Iraq, and he boasted that the pulling back went to show that the terrorist group was winning. In his humongous benevolence, he said that he'd answer questions posted via the Internet, in an interview that is to be held next month.

Now, he hasn't specified if the questions should be submitted by video, like those for the YouTube presidential debates, or via email to the terrorist network. The fact is that this type of interview will be the first of its kind for Al-Qaeda, all the others have mostly been conducted as a means for propaganda and to show that the leaders are still alive and willing to fight.

If that is the case, one could only wonder how much support the network actually has, if it decided to go public in this manner, with an "open interview" in the brewing. Is it that they are trying to show how popular they are or has it grown to the point that they could no longer answer all the questions in detail, so they'll answer most of them for everybody?

And on a more positive note, if the interview is going to be a video one, like they have been this far, will it have a set and a host that will ask the questions? It should be somebody charismatic, so it should be Osama. Or, if it's not him, he should at least have a walk-in, clap a couple times and say "Hi" to his fans everywhere. Perhaps even wink and make a couple of jokes. Strangely enough, I am thinking about this more in terms of a stand up comedy, rather than in those of terrorism in the making. It just seems so incredible?
