Stone Village Pictures has acquired remake rights to the 1955 French heist classic Rififi directed by Jules Dassin.

The company will make a contemporized version starring Al Pacino and directed by Harold Becker, according to ComingSoon.net

The 65-year-old actor has agreed to star in the remake of the 1955 picture as this would be his third collaboration with Baker after the 1996 "City Hall" and the 1989 "Sea of Love".

The original movie told the story of a thief around a career thief who plans a jewellery store heist after finding that his wife had left him during his stay in jail.
