Put Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin, and you’re guaranteed to have a movie that fans will rush to see. “Stand Up Guys” just got its first official trailer, which you can see in full above.
Val (Pacino) has been in prison for the better part of the last 3 decades so, naturally, when he goes out, he expects his best friend Doc (Walken) to show him what he’s been missing out on.
Reunited with another former member of their gang, Hirsch (Arkin), the three set out to paint the town red.
Underneath the appearance of a typical comedy is an undercurrent of violence that becomes apparent in the second half of the trailer: Doc is under strict orders to kill Val until the morning, so he doesn’t have too much time to decide which side to take.
Directed by Mark Margolis, “Stand Up Guys” will be out on January 11.
