Manufacturer of storage solutions, Akitio has just announced the launch of the Neutrino U3+ laptop hard drive enclosure, on its official website. The new device features triple-interface connectivity and is built of aluminum.

The Neutrino U3+ laptop hard drive enclosure has four different connectors on its back side.

Two of them are FireWire800 connectors and one is USB 3.0, while the fourth is the DC jack next to the power switch.

Neutrino U3+ laptop hard drive enclosure is built of aluminum and this means that the 2.5” HDD inside it is being cooled passively.

The pricing stands at a rather high 80 USD.

That’s about 63 EUR for the European buyers, but the point must be made that the product features a nice design and has a relatively good build quality at first glance.

The official features are :

•USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface
•USB 2.0 backwards compatible
•FireWire 800 interface
•FireWire 400 backwards compatible
•Designed for 2.5" drives up to 12.5mm
•Large heatsink for passive cooling
•Durable, compact and portable
•Stackable
•Fanless

The device ships complete with a USB 3.0 cable and a FireWire one.
