It looks like a high-tech flute and uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

Everyone knows about electric guitars and piano keyboards, but there are other types of electronic musical instruments, and I'm not talking about electric violins right now, although they do exist.

Instead, I'm bringing you the EWI 5000 wind instrument from Akai.

Basically, it's an electronic flute, or whistle, or whatever you want to call it, that doesn't need any wires, unlike the EWI-USB and 4000s models.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi technology creates and maintains the link between the instrument/controller and its receiver box. It is that receiver box that possesses stereo 0.25-in output jacks (6.3 mm, for connecting an amplifier), plus a 3.5 mm jack (for normal use).

Over 3 GB of onboard SONiVOX-created traditional and progressive sounds are pre-installed on the Akai EWI 5000. The battery should last for up to 12 hours of continuous use.
