The answer most likely lies within more updates

Apple's newly released Mac OS X 10.5.2. has fixed a LOT of bugs. People are generally happy with their Mac's behavior after updating their operating systems, some even reporting that their PCs now run better and faster than ever. AirPort issues were also reported fixed, with connection reliability and stability being improved, but some users dared say otherwise.

The reason of course lies within more updates. Installing 10.5.2 myself,
as my iMac restarted, I found Opera to be... well inoperable. Updating Opera as well, I could surf the web even faster and better than ever before. The same thing goes with pretty much all the stuff you use on your Mac and especially AirPort:

"My Airport is not working since the update to 10.5.2. I have a Westell 327W router. Ethernet great, wireless for our other laptop is great...I can't get my MBP to connect via wireless. This is CRAZY!!! I'm about to go on a trip and cannot connect?" an upset MacBook Pro user writes up on Apple Discussions.

Soon after the release of MacBook Air, forums were filled with complaints of wireless connection issues. Apple advised Air owners using a third-party (non-Apple) 802.11n wireless router, that had an out-of-date router firmware, to make sure the firmware on their router was up-to-date and "contact the manufacturer of the router to obtain the latest firmware for that device."

This can very well translate to MB Pro users as well, so for the love of God, everyone just update their system, if updates are available!

Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to automatically check for the latest Apple software using the Internet. If your computer is not up-to-date, other software updates available for your computer may appear that you should install. Naturally, an update's size may vary from computer to computer when installed using Software Update and some updates may require installing prior to others, so you should run Software Update more than once to make sure you have all available updates.
